Duane Michals

Duane Michals was born on February 18, 1932. He grew up in McKeesport, Pennsylvania and is currently living in New York city. He became interested in art at the age of 14 while attending water colour university classes at the Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh. 

After two years in the army, In 1956 he went on to study at the Parsons School of design with a plan to become a graphic designer, However he did not complete his study's.

He describes his photographic skills as self-taught.
